R. Rider
Jim Rider is an Associate of the Federal Market Group focusing on
Proposal Management. He provides technical and marketing consulting to clients
who are pursuing or have been awarded federal government contracts. This
support ranges from capabilities vs. needs assessment, through proposal preparation,
red team reviews, win strategy development, post award training (in-house
staff and customer), and support for trade shows and industry exhibitions.
He has over 30 years experience in tracking, capturing and performing government
contracts. Highlights of support activities include:
Mr. Rider has served as proposal manager for numerous government
solicitations, including Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Indefinite
Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ’s) for Information Technology
and Logistical Support; and Engineering Support Services contracts.
He has successfully prepared and submitted GSA Schedules for Information
Technology, MOBIS, Professional Engineering Services, and Financial & Audit
Services. Additionally he has provided proposal management and preparation
of various competitive solicitations for training, weapon, and vehicle
systems.
As a leading proposal manager/business development
consultant, Mr. Rider has established “required
to win” strategies through use of FOIA and secondary
marketing data sources, lead efforts to establish a suitable
labor database to pursue engineering support services
contracts and analyzed Omnibus ID/IQ Information Technology
contract to assist client in targeting profitable sectors
of their contract. He has hands-on field engineering
support of various night vision and infrared counter
measure devices.
Prior to establishing his consulting practice,
Mr. Rider was the primary business development manager
for U.S. Army force-on-force tactical engagement training
devices (MILES/AGES). He has also served as the lead
business development manager for FMS (Foreign Military
Sales) of training systems in the Middle East. He has
worked with U.S. Army National Guard to track and bid
training system requirements.
Mr. Rider is a member of the Association of
the United States Army (AUSA), the Army Aviation Association
of America (Quad A), the Association of Old Crows (AOC),
the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and
the National Training Systems Association – American
Defense Preparedness Association (NTSA-ADPA).
Mr. Rider received a B.A in Administrative Science
from Pepperdine University and a M.A. in Management from
Claremont Graduate School.
